Blissful Baby Workshops with Janean Gray and Alyisa Chipman
There are so many things that make a newborn session go smoothly but these are three things that make our lives SO much easier!
1). Our PLM. We both used to be natural light photographers but now we never want to go back! Janean still teaches natural light at our workshops but she only shoots studio light with the PLM at home. We can do sessions any time of day and in any weather! It gives the softest light of any modifier we have ever used! We use the 86 inch white PLM with the black cover and diffusion fabric.
2). A step ladder. We are both shorter than a lot of our clients and shooting down is always the most flattering, so having a step ladder is essential to those beautiful parent shots!
3). Stretch headbands. We all love tie backs. They are very versatile. They can fit newborn all the way up to adult and sometimes you don’t even need to tie them but stretch headbands are essential to our girl newborn shoots! If you have a baby that is not in a deep sleep yet, the tickle of a tie back can wake them up and lose your perfect pose! We believe these are also essential for parent shots. When parents are holding babies, they aren’t always worried about what the headband will look like and it ends up completely lopsided on the babies head!
